In 2007, HAZMED was selected by Boeing Corporation for participation in the Department of Homeland Security’s Mentor Protégé Program. During the 3-year period, Boeing provided management and technical assistance to our firm.

Maryland's Top 100 Women Circle of Excellence
Ms. Sales was named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women for 1999, 2003, and 2007.  As a three –time winner, the Daily Record of Baltimore, Maryland inducted Ms. Sales into the Circle of Excellence on May 7, 2007.  The Baltimore-based Maryland business daily has compiled this list to recognize women who who have displayed a history of significant and worthwhile accomplishments throughout their careers, exercising leadership in their professional fields, and serving as mentors to other women.

The Maryland Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs, and the Daily Record, recognized HAZMED as one of its successful Maryland minority businesses on October 27, 2006.

HAZMED was honored by the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Region 3 with the "Minority Small Business Firm of the Year" award on September 27, 2000 for its hard work and dedication to fostering minority business growth and prosperity.

The Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce recognized HAZMED’s President as an accomplished business leader on October 28, 2004.

Finalist, Ernest &Young Entrepreneur of the Year
HAZMED’s president was selected as a finalist for the Maryland Ernest & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" award in the Science and Technology business category on June 29, 1999. "Entrepreneur of the Year" honors individuals whose ingenuity, hard work and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures.
